If you are a regular reader of this blog or just an early subscriber, you know we love streetgolf because it's fun, relaxed and informal. But it can be even funnier when you set unusal challenge. Yes streetgolf , urbangolf can be a real show once you have the right entertainer.


There are markets for this kind of off-course events and the entertaner- often a pro/semi pro or a very skilled streetgolfer- has to be a showman. 
In UK there even are freestyle golf pro contest where golfer can expose their dexterities.


By the way if you have a friend who's a very talented freestyle golfer let us know he might be interested.

FROM STREETGAMES TO STREETGOLF: A STREET CHALLENGE

Golf game is not an easy game to understand for everyone. There're codes, etiquettes and more imortantly huge fees. Golf appear to be out of reach of people with low incomes, they don't even consider playing golf despite they secretly dream to. Isn't it easlily understandable considering the price of the golf gear,the golf apparel, country club fee and green fee... Nike tried once to be a game changer bringing golf to the mass, it actually worked thanks to the advent of Tigerwoods but only in the U.S. 
The challenge is enormous: how to bring a sport considered as elite and high income delight exclusivity, to the doorstep of the mass? How to be a real life game changer? How to engage youth and communities from lower socio-economic background? How to improve self-esteem, leaderschip and bound local community workers while having fun?
That's the challenge  streetgames is willing to take on with streetgolf !

FROM FOOTBALL TO CAPOEIRA PART 2 :THE SPORTING CLUB PORTUGAL

The Sporting Club Portugal (SCP) is known as on of the best football club and training center in europe. It is also  a multi-sports club which won a lot national and international trophies in athletic, judo, swimming, futsal, roller-hockey, canoeing, karaté, billards, gymnastic, kick-boxing, ( and that keeps on), swiming-pool, taekwondo, ping-pong, archery,chess, boxe, aikido, kravmaga almost every sport you think... they have in store...Even Capoeira !


Not everyone can wear the SCP roaring lion's blazon. This is just possibility of happy few 

 For the very first time capoeira isn't taken lightly and has the support of a big structure since SCP got one of the best sport facility in Europe.
 This is a great opportunity for the Technical School of Capoeira and   to be featured, leverage awareness , recruit interessted people and connect with officials and sponsors . I don't really know the terms of the deal it seems SCP and the Technical School of Capoeira have come to a clever agreenment.
Recently they performed a capoeira show in front of 40000 supporters during the classico de Alvalade football game .

Hi , happy monday follower. Today is monday, the actual say you got back to work ... not funny right? But as the weather gets better I feel like extending your week-end to a trip brasil through time.
What is the relation between football and capoeira ? Both of them are N°1 sport in brasil. Most of brasilian football players use to train capoeira while kids, that's where they all got their football swings and moves.
Here is a video of king Pelé acting as doctor Capoeira filmed in 1985. Young Pelé sure knows how to use his foot and a pair of Havaianas.

BMW MAKES YOU GOLF ON ICE

When it comes to winter sports people naturally thinks ski sex and sun but now with snow golf or winter golf activities they can say ski snow golf and fun .
Snow golf is born 10 years ago in the city of Megève (france) high spot of the french jet-seters thanks to  a pasionnated french golfer Philippe Guilhem who initiated the idea of the Megève Winter Cup.
This years BMW was the major sponsor of the event.

The  Winter Golf Cup took place from the 2nd to 12th february 2012. It was 11 days of event. 
The firt part of the event covered 2 days and was sponsored by prestigious partners such as vacheron ConstantinEdmond de Rotschild group and Rolls Roys motor cars France .

Since gaining a foothold in the U.S. in the early 2000s, bolstered by pop culture (think: the opening scene of Casino Royale), parkour’s popularity has grown steadily, if slowly, in this country. Numerous informal organizations promote and teach this art of urban acrobatics, and a proliferation of YouTube videos show traceurs “freerunning” through the cityscape.

Still, many cities view parkour enthusiasts as lawless street ruffians, akin to skateboarders and street artists. In Manhattan’s Battery Park area, a “No Parkour” rule slaps practitioners with a $300 fine. In Hollister, Calif., anyone seen doing parkour is charged with trespassing. In November, the city of Margate, Fla., just north of Miami, banned the sport from all city parks

CAPOEIRA EXPOSED...AT LAST.

Last month for the firt time Parisian citizen  were exposed to Capoeira. You might be asking yourself why such a big deal? There is Capoeira everywhere. Yes that is true. But this is the first time Capoeira gets such exposure.

L’UNICEF engage with sport

Here is a great post written by the Sport and citizenship association about the UNICEF engagement in sport. Sport and Citizenship is the first european think tank in the field of sport. It is a forum for new thinking and lobbying which aims as putting forward the core values of sport society, in the realm of politics, economics and media issues.




We ,Emergence Sports Marketing know for long sport and especialy modern sports can be useful tool for society. Associations such as Bindacapoeira and Capoeira arab do great jobs among middle east refugiee camps. They work among marginalized and vulnerable children using capoeira, the brasilian martial dance-fight, as a therapy giving childrens back their smiles and enthusiasm.

PARKOUR I-ROBOT: THE RISE OF THE MACHINE ?

Emergent sports and new modern sports are all about pushing oneself to the limits or exploit oneself to its own limits. Today marketers and movie directors have aknowledge Parkour and Freerunning as an uprising and valuable sport (tool) practice that gather hundreds of fan and communities across the globe.
Running in an urban environement can be challenging if you can see beyond the traditional practice of it.


EXPLOIT YOURSELF is a special commercial inspired by Nike (and Parkours obviously) directed by Carl Erik Rinsh 4 years ago (it seems) in wich you can see a robot performing jumps as traceurs do.

Capoeira, like many martial arts is practiced by people from all walks of life and is seen as a great equalizer in terms of bringing people together and breaking down social barriers. Historically, when it comes to women in capoeira and the martial arts generally, there has always been far less participating and those that have, often have to work that much harder than their male counterparts to get the recognition they deserve.




To the untrained eye, capoeira can seem like a brutal and dangerous pass time which may put many women off taking an interest. However

BEHIND THE STORY: LE PETIT PARKOUR

Few days ago I did a post (in french) about the Guarana Antatica viral video on youtube: le Petit Parkour!!!
I did get the chance to interview one of the mastermind behind the concept and creation.

Daniel Ottoni (on the picture) is a young brazilian art director at DM9DDB (DDB Brazil) one of the largest agency in brazil.Daniel is a nice guy originated from Belo-Horizonte, one of the biggest city  and seems to be very funny. we were so excited by the Guarana Antartica commercial that we sent him a mail to more informations and know more about the story behind the story. He kindly answered all my questions. (we definitly need more art director like him ;0)

L'ENERGIE QUI CONTAGIA



Depuis quelque temps déjà je m'étais promis de faire un billet sur l'une des vidéos les plus virales de Parkour: Guarana Antartica!
Si vous n'avez jamais goutté au Guarana Antartica vous n'avez rien connu (si si c'est délicieux). Le Guarana Antartica est une forme soda native du pays des quintuples champions du monde de football, le Brésil.

C'est une boisson à base de Guarana (herbe sauvage poussant en Amazonie). C'est l'équivalent du Coca-cola aux U.S.A ou d'Orangina en France. La deuxième boisson la plus vendu au Brésil après Coca-cola et l'une des 15 boissons gazeuses les plus vendues au monde.
 Bref c'est un poids lourd de l'industrie brassicole entré dans le girond du plus grand brasseur mondial, le groupe belgo-brésilien Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).

Que se passerai t-il si le soft drink "maison" partenaire officiel de l'équipe national décidait de s'allier à l'une des pratique  sportive émergente les plus sensationnelle et spectaculaire de 21ème siècle: le Parlour! Hé bien ça donne ça!
